Carbon “Less” Certificate for NWS Holdings

The Corporate Office of NWS Holdings Limited has been awarded the Carbon “Less” Certificate of the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence organized by the Hong Kong Productivity Council, recognizing the Group’s efforts in reducing 8%, or 30 tonnes, carbon emissions during 2009.

NWS Holdings increases shares in China United International Rail Containers Co., Limited

NWS Holdings Limited entered into the Share Transfer Agreement in respect of the acquisition of 8% equity interest in China United International Rail Containers Co., Limited (“CUIRC”), the sino-foreign joint venture enterprise which develops, operates and manages 18 strategically located pivotal rail container terminals in Mainland China. Upon completion, the Group will increase its interest holding from 22% to an aggregate of 30% in CUIRC and remains as the second largest shareholder of CUIRC.

NWS Holdings acquires new concession for industrial water services in Chongqing

NWS Holdings Limited through its joint venture Sino French Water Development Company Limited, together with Chongqing Water Group and Changshou Chemical Industrial Park Development and Construction Company Ltd., has secured a new 50-year concession for industrial water services in Chongqing Changshou Chemical Industrial Park via a new joint venture of the three parties. The effective shareholding by NWS Holdings is 25.52%.

NWS Holdings Announces Interim Results

NWS Holdings Limited today announced its interim results for the six months ended 31 December 2009. Profit attributable to shareholders with an increase of 183% to HK$2,305.4 million (2008: HK$813.3 million) and Attributable Operating Profit rose 21% to HK$1,502.2 million (2008: HK$1,241.2 million).

NWS Holdings celebrated “Renri” (“人日”) with deprived elderly on NWS Caring Day 2010

To celebrate its seventh anniversary of First Trading Day, NWS Holdings Limited co-organized NWS Caring Day 2010 with St. James’ Settlement on “Renri” (“人日”), the seventh day of Chinese New Year. Over 400 staff members from the Group’s Corporate Office and 17 member companies celebrated birthday together with hundreds of deprived elderly who had no ideas about their birthdays.
